The Gray Ones

= An Introduction to Me, Brian=

I am Brian. My name isn't Brian, however. My age and real name don't need to be listed here, but I really like Runescape. It's my favorite game. I have a lot of memories from playing it. I introduced my friends to it. I met people on it. I've had casual and personal discussions on it. This is why I love it. Sometimes, things you love can be cruel to you and beat you down.

=Who Are You Talking To?=

I was logged onto Runescape nearly every day. One day, I was in the G/E. No one was there. It was almost as if it was deserted. The music for it was slow and distorted, like someone slowed it down in Audacity and then sped it up. I went to the fountain, and it looked like it had been drawn by a five-year-old. I went to Edgeville, and there was nothing there but the old school growl of a greater demon (I only play OSRS, RS3 is crap) and what I found was... quite interesting.

I saw a gray greater demon with red eyes that seemed to be glowing. I looked at the minimap and saw that there was no yellow dot indicating the presence of this beast. I right-clicked it. It appeared to be called "Gray One" and the horrifying red "Level 678" loomed right next to it. I broke my Falador teleport and teleported straight to Falador. The sheer amount of worry plagued my mind. A shady player called "Elfcakes" who wore Ghostly Robes ran up to me and said he was glad to see another player. He was a level 125 (I'm a level 123). He told me that something was wrong with World 302 (the world we were on) and that I needed to log off immediately. I refused to log out, and he seemed angry with me. He ran out of Falador, and I haven't seen him since.

I walked around Falador and saw a big group of players. Most of them were saying "wtf is going on" and "y cant i log out ???". Some of them were selling things and others were angry. A group of level 167's had established themselves to be leaders and were telling people to calm down. I walked up to them, and they approached me, welcoming me to the safe spot. As soon as I said thank you, a herd of Gray Ones appeared all around us and started killing players. I attacked one, and it didn't attack back, but in two hits I somehow killed it. I killed another one, and it didn't fight back either. I must have killed ten or eleven until the final one, labeled the leader, instantly killed me with a sort of magic I had never seen. I couldn't log back in, as it said my account was banned, but a special message colored blood red was at the very bottom...

"DO NOT FIGHT WITH THE GRAY ONES".

What Just Happened?

During a live stream with mods and such, a user named "GowerPower" asked what the Gray Ones were and what happened on that fateful day. Andrew Gower looked at the camera and said, "It-it w-was just a glitch, nothing but a glitch, only a glitch." He said it like he was rushing, and Mod Ash looked at him and told him to tell the truth. Andrew screamed "NO!!" and walked out of POV. Paul Gower looked at Ash, and walked toward the camera and shut it off. The stream ended, and comments flocked the chat like "What the heck?" and "omg". Nobody knows what happened during the Gray Ones' presence, and people thought there was an occult connection. Nothing has been confirmed, and people still wonder who Elfcakes and the Gray Ones were.
